Safeguarding Statement
DeafSEND recognises that safeguarding children and young people is everyone’s responsibility.
Professional practice
Where DeafSEND undertakes work involving children or young people, safeguarding responsibilities will be considered alongside the policies and procedures of the commissioning school or organisation.
School responsibility
Schools and settings remain responsible for their own safeguarding arrangements, including supervision, safer working practice, reporting procedures and access to the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Concerns
If a safeguarding concern arises during commissioned work, it will be acted upon in accordance with applicable statutory guidance, professional responsibilities and the safeguarding procedures of the relevant setting.
